Whitman-Walker Institute: Advancing SOGI Data Disaggregation Nationally

Whitman-Walker Institute
Whitman-Walker Institute is one of the country’s premiere organizations focused on advancing the health and wellbeing of people facing barriers to quality care, particularly LGBTQ people and people living with HIV, through the strategic integration of clinical expertise, research acumen, quality education and policy change.
Project overview:
Whitman-Walker Institute’s work will focus on advocacy to advance data disaggregation by sexual orientation/gender identity (SOGI), race, ethnicity, and other foundational demographic data elements to allow for the identification of health disparities and social determinants of health. WWI’s approach will be to engage OMB and other federal agencies to raise awareness about the need for SOGI data collection and intersectional data disaggregation and to provide technical assistance to other national and state-level partners.
