Advancing NHPI Visibility: EPIC’s Updated Blueprint and Data Profiles Support Federal Policy Reform
Advancing NHPI Visibility: EPIC’s Updated Blueprint and Data Profiles Support Federal Policy Reform

Empowering Pacific Islander Communities (EPIC)
EPIC advances social justice by engaging Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islanders in culture-centered advocacy, leadership development, and research.
Project overview:
EPIC is developing an Updated Policy Blueprint to address key challenges and opportunities in NHPI data disaggregation, with a strong focus on federal education policies. This framework will guide EPIC’s advocacy on education, health, economic justice, housing, civil rights, and immigration. Serving as a resource for federal leaders, legislators, and advocates, the Blueprint will emphasize the necessity of disaggregating NHPI data for more effective policy development.
EPIC is also producing Comprehensive Demographic Profiles at both state and national levels to highlight the health, economic, and social conditions of NHPI communities. These reports will include disaggregated data on education, income, and health outcomes, reinforcing the need for improved data collection at the federal level. Currently in the analysis phase, these profiles will be used as advocacy tools to push for equitable resource distribution and policy changes that address disparities within NHPI populations.
