The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University

Project overview:

Over the past two years, the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University has led their “Do You See Us?” data disaggregation campaign. This campaign encourages philanthropic organizations and Michigan state agencies to adopt new standards for collecting demographic data, with a focus on disaggregating race and ethnicity data. Moving forward, the Johnson Center aims to expand the campaign’s reach through public education on data literacy and disaggregation, as well as by engaging with diverse audiences at conferences and events for philanthropic entities and state and local governments across Michigan.
