The Johnson Center Helps Lead Data Equity in Michigan

The Johnson Center Helps Lead Data Equity in Michigan

January 1, 2024

The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University

Project overview:

The Johnson Center is leading a campaign to systematize data collection standards and transparency in Michigan, by fostering communication between state agencies and the nonprofits and foundations that use state data to better serve communities. Through data education and advocacy, we hope to put Michigan data disaggregated by race and ethnicity at the fingertips of community-based organizations. Perhaps more importantly, we also hope to foster a network where those organizations will be able to better communicate other disaggregation needs in the future, such as by SOGI, geography, and other characteristics.
